NexV, an AI-powered healthcare expert, officially announced the development of a new mental health solution at MEDICA 2025, the world’s largest medical device trade show, held in Düsseldorf, Germany. This launch marks the company’s full-scale entry into the global market. The annual MEDICA trade show in Düsseldorf attracts over 80,000 healthcare professionals and buyers; this year, approximately 5,600 companies from 71 countries participated.
The technology is a research project selected under the government’s Mini DIPS (Super Gap 1000) program and is positioned as a next-generation mental health care platform aimed at reducing stress and improving mental health.
At the exhibition, NexV presented its “Mental Health Chair”—a device based on a combination of artificial intelligence and biosignal technologies. The device is powered by a multimodal system that measures various biosignals in real time, including electroencephalography (EEG) and heart rate variability (HRV) (using remote photoplethysmography (rPPG)), to analyze the user’s emotional state and stress level.
This mental health chair uses a built-in camera and an electroencephalogram (EEG) headset to accurately measure the user’s emotional state and stress level. Based on the collected data, an AI-powered counseling module automatically recommends dialogues and meditation materials tailored to the user’s emotional state. Users can directly access various psychological counseling and meditation courses through an interactive interface connected to the chair.
At the event, CEO Hyunji Yoon shared her vision: “It would be very important to introduce a version of the mental health chair that combines AI and biosignal analysis technologies to the global market.”
She emphasized the importance of user-centric innovation: “We will continue to innovate by assessing users’ emotional states in real time through conversations with familiar AI characters and providing personalized counseling and meditation content to help relieve stress and improve mental health.”
Professor Yin also emphasized the platform’s transformative role: “This research will be a turning point, expanding the capabilities of emotion and psychological state measurement technologies, previously limited to hospital and clinical settings, into a truly convenient device for everyday use. By providing personalized consultations and meditation sessions based on individual biosignals, we will significantly improve the accessibility of mental health management.”
This study is part of the Mini DIPS program, which is expected to run until the end of 2025. NexV plans to quickly integrate the study results into the commercialization phase to create new business models in the global mental health market.
The company said it would accelerate its penetration into domestic and international markets by expanding into a multimodal healthcare platform integrating technology, content and services.
